Garmin GPSMAP 64

I know this website/forum is seldom visited these days, but I don't use social media so I'm posting this here in case someone sees it and can provide an answer.

My brother has a Garmin GPSMAP 62 (just 62 with no letters after it) and a Samsung Tab A. He wants to know how he can run Garmin Connect on his tablet to download geocaches into the Garmin. It's easy peasy with the bluetooth models but this one has no bluetooth.

I am doubtful whether an OTG adapter would work, but would a microSD card be a possibility? Can the Garmin load gpx files from an "external" card?

Thanks for any help that comes our way!

Garmin 62 load

I have both Garmin 64 and Garmin 62 and I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A.  I was planning to download the PQ's into the Tab A using C:geo I believe (might have been GCDroid).

There is a choice to Export a gpx file in that program. I then exported it to a directory on the Tab A.  I was then planning on removing the micro SD card from the Garmin and using File Manager to copy the GPX file to the SD card by way of a SD card reader (you need a USB MicroC to USB C (female) cord).  It did work but it was so cumbersome and slow that  for my last trip to Europe  I ended up taking my laptop with GSAK - just like at home.

I never found a way to convert the GPX files to the GZZ format that the Garmin64 uses with no limits on size which was the real reason I didn't use the above workaround.

If you have any questions - give me a holler on the GC messages.
